Update: Token Swap Begins – 18 August 2024

Dear Tratok Community,

We are thrilled to announce that a new contract has been successfully deployed! The new contract is now live at the following address: 0x35bC519E9fe5F04053079e8a0BF2a876D95D2B33. This marks an important milestone for our project, and we invite all members of the public to start swapping their tokens today!

Before you dive into the swapping process, let’s cover some key points to ensure a smooth transition:

1. Swap Ratio: The swap will occur at a 1 to 1 ratio. This means you can exchange your existing tokens for new ones on a one-for-one basis.

2. No Expiry on Swaps: We want to emphasize that there is no expiry or deadline for the token swap. We believe in inclusivity, so you can swap your tokens now or even wait until 2050—it’s entirely your choice and responsibility.

3. Claiming Incorrectly Locked Wallets: If you have tokens in incorrectly locked wallets, rest assured that you will be able to claim tokens from the new contract.

4. Automatic Support from Exchanges: Exchanges have taken a snapshot of their holdings and will support the swaps automatically for users based on the last recorded balances. Please remember not to deposit old tokens further, as they will be lost.

5. Automatic Support from Tratok Ecosystem: All tokens deposited onto user wallets on the Tratok ecosystem will be swapped automatically by the Team.

6. Decentralized Features: The new contract does not incorporate lock features. Any controls necessary for Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and security will be managed solely by the exchanges that token holders use for their transactions. As a hospitality ecosystem, we are not a financial service company or law enforcement.

How to Manually Swap Your Tokens

For Swapping Tokens from contract 0xe225aca29524bb65fd82c79a9602f3b4f9c6fe3a:

    1. Send your tokens to the address: 0x0Bd2b7821A5977afDD9e59E939B5670c0Fd7E17E.
    2. Visit https://swap.tratok.com.
    3. Select the “Swap Tokens” option and submit your transfer details.
    4. Wait for your swap to process. You can check on the status by selecting the “Check Swap Request Option”.

 

Swapping is made simple through a dedicated swap portal

 

For Claiming Locked Tokens:

    1. Go to https://swap.tratok.com.
    2. Select the “Assist with Locked Tokens Option” and submit your details.
    3. Wait for your token replacement. You can monitor the status by selecting the “Check Lock Request Option”.

Why Manual Swapping?

Initially, we planned to automate the swap process. However, after gathering feedback and consultations, we determined that this approach could lead to several issues:

    1. We want to avoid old tokens circulating and potentially being used to fraudulently trick members of the public.
    2. It’s essential to maintain a proper audit trail that can be reviewed and signed off by human beings.
    3. We want to ensure that associated developers and partners do not exploit the public ahead of their agreed lock-in periods. Blacklisting wallets is not a viable solution, as it may inadvertently affect community members and could be bypassed through intermediary wallets.

We have dedicated significant resources to ensure a smooth transition period and will strive to provide the best service possible to the public. We look forward to trading resuming shortly, the addition of new exchanges, and the initiation of pilot tests.
