Every Phone Is Now a Till: Contactless Payments Are Live

    Ecosystem Updates

Every Phone Is Now a Till

Your waiter’s phone just became a payment gateway. The guest scans, the payment lands, everybody gets on with their evening. No terminal. No hardware. No fees eating your margin.

    Carol
    Community Manager, Tratok

It is Friday night. The bar is three deep, the terrace is full, and a guest is waving at your waiter with a card in one hand and a look of mild desperation on their face.

Your waiter goes to find the terminal. Somebody is already using it. He waits. He comes back. It has gone to sleep. It reconnects, eventually, and takes its cut on the way past. Then it makes you wait three days for money you earned on Friday.

Delete that entire scene. Your waiter already has everything he needs in his pocket.

Contactless Payment is live across Tratok. Your staff open the app on the phone they are already holding, tap an amount or a menu item, and hold up the screen. The guest scans it. Done, in about four seconds, while both of them are still standing there.

No terminal to rent. No hardware to buy. No percentage disappearing out of every round of drinks. And no waiting until Tuesday for Friday’s money.

    Zero
    Hardware to buy or rent
    Zero
    Gas fees to pay
    Seconds
    Not business days
    One email
    The entire setup process

Why you will want this before your next service

The setup is an email. That is the whole thing.

There is nothing to buy, nothing to install, nobody to book an appointment with. You send an invitation, your staff member signs in on their own phone, and they land on a payment screen locked to your venue. No procurement, no engineer, no three year contract with a company that will call you about upgrades.

You could genuinely have this running before tonight’s service.

Hand it to the new kid without handing over the business

This is the part owners will sit up for. You can invite floor staff as Service Employees, and that role sees exactly one thing: the payment screen.

Not your revenue. Not your bookings. Not your guest list, your listings, your team page, your banking details or your AI assistant. Nothing. And it is enforced on the server, so it is not a case of hoping nobody goes poking about in a menu they should not.

Which means the agency waiter you have never met, the summer starter on day one, the friend covering a shift: all of them can take payments for you this evening without ever seeing a number that is none of their business. Suspend someone and their access dies instantly, not whenever they next sign in.

Charge from your menu, or just type it

    Tap a package
Restaurants charge straight off their existing set menus, tasting menus and event packages. Properties charge off their property packages. The price comes from your own listing, so nobody fat-fingers a zero or quietly gives your best table away at cost.
    Or type any amount
Bar tab, spa treatment, room upgrade, the bottle they decided on at the last minute. Add a note like “Table 12” and it lands on the guest’s receipt.
    In your own currency
Charge in whatever you already trade in. The conversion to TRAT happens on its own, at the live rate. You never have to think about it.

Tips your team will actually thank you for

Tip mode sends gratuities to a venue-level tip wallet shared by the whole team, so a tip belongs to the shift rather than to whoever happened to be holding the phone.

And tips stay out of your revenue figures entirely. They lift your withdrawable balance, they sit on their own line, and they never once inflate your sales reports or your tax export. Staff money looks like staff money, to you and to the taxman.

Your money, where your money already lives

A paid charge credits your withdrawable balance in the currency you billed in, and counts as revenue everywhere it should: dashboard, analytics, revenue and reports, the tax CSV. You request payouts exactly as you already do for bookings.

There is no second system. Nothing to reconcile at midnight. Nothing to export from one place and import into another.

Finally, you can see which door the money came through

Your dashboard now treats in-person takings as a proper channel. The revenue card carries a mix bar splitting online bookings from money taken off the floor, so you can tell at a glance whether your terrace is quietly outperforming your website.

Under it sits a live In-Person Payments panel: today’s takings and transaction count, month to date, tips today, tips this month, and the last five transactions as they happen, showing what was charged, at which venue, by which member of staff. If you do not use the feature, the panel never appears.

And the full Contactless ledger lists every charge and tip, filterable by type, status, venue and date, with per-currency totals split between charges and tips. Every line shows the fiat amount and the exact TRAT figure, so your books reconcile to the decimal.

Switch it on for your venue

Takes about as long as reading this sentence twice.

    What your guests get

Short version: the least painful payment of their trip.

    They scan, that is it
Any ordinary camera app works, or the Scan and Pay tab in their Tratok wallet. The payment page opens with the amount already filled in.
    Nobody can fiddle the number
The amount lives on the server, not in the code. The QR carries no amount and no wallet address, just a single-use reference. Nothing to mistype, nothing to tamper with.
    Instant, and free to send
Both sides sit inside the Tratok ecosystem, so it settles as a ledger transfer rather than an on-chain transaction. No gas fees. No waiting for block confirmations. Your staff screen flips to PAID while the guest is still holding their phone up.
Honest pricing, held for ten minutes
The screen shows the price in TRAT with the original currency underneath, so a 250 AED dinner bill shows exactly what that is in both. The rate is locked for ten minutes, so nothing drifts while somebody digs their phone out of a beach bag.
Tipping with no cash on them
A tip code, scanned the same way. Useful now that roughly nobody carries notes.
    One code, one use
Each code works once and expires after ten minutes. It cannot be reused, replayed or paid twice. Open a paid one again and you simply see the receipt.

It behaves identically whether their balance sits on Ethereum or BNB Chain. They never have to know, and they are never asked to pick.

Start to finish, in about four seconds

    1
    Staff create the charge
Tap a package or type an amount and currency, then hit Create charge.
    2
    The server does the maths
Converts to TRAT at the live rate, applies the standard settlement cushion, rounds to five decimal places to match the token, and mints a single-use reference good for ten minutes.
    3
    Up comes the code
TRAT amount large, original currency underneath, one QR.
    4
    The guest scans
Their payment page opens with the locked amount and their balance.
    5
    They confirm
In one atomic step the guest is debited, the charge is marked paid, and you are credited in the currency you billed. All of it or none of it. Never half.
    6
    PAID
Full screen, unmistakable, before anyone has had to ask whether it went through.

    The honest pitch

Most crypto payment stories ask you to put up with something. Pick a chain. Copy an address. Pay a gas fee. Wait for confirmations. Cross your fingers that you pasted the right thing.

This one removes the friction instead of explaining it. For you: no terminal, no rental, no slice off every sale, no settlement delay. For your guest: no address, no chain, no gas, no waiting. They scan a code and it is finished.

It also means every TRAT holder out there will shortly have somewhere to spend it, and right now that somewhere is the venues already on the network. That is a queue you want to be standing in front of rather than behind.

Set it up from your accounts in the hospitality portal. Your guests need nothing but a funded Tratok wallet and the phone they already carry everywhere.

Finally sit back and watch Tratokians buy your services.
