Tratok Now Taps You on the Shoulder

Push notifications have arrived across the Tratok ecosystem. Opt in, and the moments that matter reach you the instant they happen, on your terms, even when Tratok is closed.

A travel platform lives or dies on timing. A host replies to your question. A friend request lands from someone you met on the Feed. The price you have been watching finally drops. Your booking is confirmed, changed, or cancelled. Every one of those moments is worth knowing about now, not the next time you happen to open a browser tab or read an email.

Tratok now taps you on the shoulder. Push notifications are now live across the ecosystem, and they arrive whether Tratok is open, minimised, or closed altogether. On your phone. On your computer. Wherever you told us to find you.

What actually reaches you

We were deliberate about this. Nobody wants a platform that buzzes for its own amusement, so every notification maps to something you would genuinely want to know:

Each category has its own toggle. Want bookings and chat but not social activity? Two flicks and it is done.

You are in charge, always

Push is strictly opt in. Nothing arrives until you turn it on, and you turn it on per device, so your phone can buzz while your desk computer stays silent, or the other way round. Every device that is receiving alerts is listed in your settings, and any of them can be removed with a single tap.

Then there is the control which respects your pricing: how often. Choose every alert, or cap notifications to at most one every fifteen minutes, one an hour, or one every four hours. The cap applies per conversation or thread, so a lively group chat cannot buzz you again and again while you are trying to enjoy the very trip you planned on Tratok. Booking updates bypass the cap entirely, because those are the ones you can never afford to miss.

And it speaks your language

Tratok serves travellers in sixteen languages, and a notification is only useful if you can read it at a glance. So push notifications render in the language of the device that receives them. Your phone set to Arabic, your laptop set to French: each gets the alert in its own language, automatically. Your inbox on tratok.net does the same, in the language you have chosen for the site.

Turning it on takes thirty seconds

Sign in to tratok.net, open Notifications from the account menu, and press Turn on for this device. Your browser will ask permission once. Send yourself a test to see it land, then set your frequency and categories however you like.

On Android, this works in any modern browser tab. On iPhone and iPad, Apple only delivers push to web apps saved to the Home Screen, so the page will show you the three tap sequence to add Tratok there first. Once it is installed, it behaves like any other app on your phone, with our icon and our notifications.

One more thing worth saying plainly: we will never use this channel to nag. It exists so that the things you care about reach you faster, and the controls exist so that nothing else does. That is the whole design.
