How package bookings work across all five Tratok verticals, why one price hold beats five, and what the rewards balance in your wallet actually is (and, just as importantly, what it is not).

The worst part of planning a trip is not the planning. It is the seams.

Flight on one site. Car on another. Hotel on a third. The dive trip through some outfit whose website was last meaningfully updated in 2014. The restaurant through a fourth platform that then makes you telephone them anyway.

Five confirmations scattered across your inbox. Five cancellation policies you did not read. And five completely different opinions about what happens when your flight lands six hours late, which is a particularly rich state of affairs given that one of those five bookings is the flight.

Nothing about the individual bookings is broken. The gaps between them are where the trip falls apart.

One price hold across the whole basket

This one is quietly the best part, and almost nobody notices it until the moment they need it.

Airfare moves faster than anything else in travel. It can move while you are deciding. You have felt it: you open a second tab to check one small thing, come back, and the number has changed on you.

When you reach checkout, Tratok locks your quote. A short-lived hold, so the price you saw is the price you pay.

With a package, that hold covers the entire basket. Not the flight while the car drifts. Not the room while the dive trip quietly reprices. All five, at once, at the number in front of you.

One policy you can actually read

Every listing carries a tiered cancellation policy, and you see it before you book, not buried behind a link you were never going to click.

If plans change, you get a refund preview. The exact amount, before you confirm anything. No submitting a request into a void and waiting several days to discover what a stranger decided. When you confirm, eligible funds land back in your Tratok balance immediately, ready to re-spend.

The terms are locked at the moment you book. If a provider changes their policy next month, that change cannot reach backwards and shrink your refund. What you agreed to is what holds.

Now, rewards. Let me be precise about this.

Complete a booking and a portion of it comes back to you in TRAT. That TRAT lands in your rewards balance.

Your wallet shows one number, because two numbers is one more number than anybody wants to think about at a check-in desk. Underneath, it is two balances doing two different jobs.

Because rewards are spent first, they get used the way they were meant to be used. No hoarding a balance you forgot you had. It quietly reduces the next thing you book, whether that is a flight, a car, a room, a dive or a dinner.

The loop, in four steps

Cross-selling is usually a dirty word. Fair enough.

I want to acknowledge the obvious, because you were probably already thinking it.

Cross-selling normally means an upsell nobody asked for, fired at you at the worst possible moment, usually with a countdown timer attached. Insurance you do not need. A seat you already paid for. Priority boarding for a queue that does not exist. A pre-ticked box you have to hunt for and untick. If you have ever booked a flight, you have been put through all of this, probably in the last year.

So here is our position, and you are welcome to hold us to it: a package should only exist if it is actually better than booking the parts separately. The full price is shown. The full policy is shown. Nothing is pre-ticked. And if a package is not better for you, do not book it.

I would genuinely rather you skip a bundle and keep trusting the platform than take one you regret. Trust compounds. Cheap conversions do not.
