It has been a busy two weeks for the team at Tratok. From welcoming our pilot guests from the United Kingdom to cleansing the community, it has been busy. The pilot tests were a massive success, the guests enjoying themselves, and teething problems being practically non-existent. With the feedback from the stakeholders (client and service side), we have refined some of our processes to smoothen the process and soon we look forward to welcoming all of you very soon first in Dubai and then the rest of the world as we expand. Tratok started with the vision of being the world’s travel token. For this to work, the team’s leadership decided to make Tratok available to widespread adoption and bring the gift of travel to the world. Tratok was given away for free via airdrops. As can be seen from the company wallets (found here), not a single Token held by the company, development team or advisors has ever been liquidated or moved. They cannot be as the custodian, Mohammed Altajir, has these all locked by smart contract functionality and stored on hardware wallets at a bank deposit box. Naturally, when a project progresses and delivers a product and grows in value as Tratok has, opportunists will attempt to profit from the system via dishonest means. It has come to our attention following the swap that a certain community attempted to defraud Tratok Ltd and the public. The unofficial “Tratok Africa” chat, set up by so-called supporters appears to have been a highly co-ordinated scam organized with evil intentions. Out of 206 members of this community, 177 (over 85%) attempted to cheat the system following the upgrade of the contract. As shown and confirmed by the blockchain, and in what is clearly a coordinated action, fraudulent actors attempted to move over their old tokens to the exchanges in order to try to obtain duplicate swaps. Once we became aware of this and halted it, these criminals attempted to defraud the public via the sale of the old tokens through the decentralized exchanges, taking advantage of members…

Tratok is presently carrying out a comprehensive token swap across all Tratok holding wallets. The Team apologizes to the community for the delay in the execution of this operation which is due to the enhanced security implemented in the due diligence process. This is a necessary procedure to avoid people attempting to leverage the existence of two parallel tokens by swiftly transferring the old tokens and attempting to cash these out in a short transfer window. Despite working very closely with the exchanges and having blocked all deposits until the token swap is complete, our system has been able to actively detect such behaviour in some wallets and has immediately proceeded to ban these accounts from integrating with the new smart contract.
